    Local 4413,

Thank you for your solid unity and for continuing to serve the public and eachother proudly in all that we do. There was an eboard change at the last Union meeting 10/13/2015. President Pugh resigned his position gracefully and with honor. He has served this Union well and in difficult times facing extreme hardships. Thank you for your service Austin and we wish you well in your current endeavors. I have been appointed and tasked with the responsibility of being your new President for the remainder of the term and will do my best to serve you all. I would like to thank you all in advance for bestowing this priviledge on me and allowing me the opportunity to serve. We are currently in the 30 day transition process as per our by laws and will be updating all our media pages, including this site and our Facebook page. IAFF and FPF will be updated very soon on the change by the Secretary. Administration at WCFR has already been notified of the change. Please be vigilant of everything going on and follow our CBA as closely as possible. Administration has been adamant about following the contract, but has also continued with deceptive tactics against our members. This E-Board will not stand for any deception or CBA violations. We will continue to make progress and strides to make WCFR what it can and should be. Dominick Maestre has been appointed to fill my role as Vice President and I am confident he will do a great job. Andy will post the last meetings notes for our membership to see shortly. There is a DVP position open and we will be accepting nominations for the post. Please post your nominations on this board or contact a steward on your shift. We would like to have all the nominations for that position by our next meeting in November so we can fill it and continue working. We also need progressive members to take on the task for two special and essesntial committes. We need two members for the Safety Committee and three members for the Labor Management Commitee. The Local will vote on the Safety Committee representatives after we establish members willing to take on the responsibility. The Union President will elect the three members for the Labor Management Committee per article 30 of the CBA after we have a pool of qualified motivated members. I can't begin to stress the importance of these committees and how it will affect our work and bargaining power. We have several fundraising events coming up very soon and also our end of the year banquet. Thank you to those members for all the hours and hard work which have been put into these events and fundraisers. We hope to see Local 4413's show of support at these events and throughout the community. These events will also be posted on our media pages and calendars. Please log into this site and update your phone numbers and email addresses. Please encourage new members to register and log on. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me or anyone on the staff. Thank you again and remember to stay Union Proud.

    Fraternally,

    Javier Canut

    President L-4413
