UNION MEETING REMINDER 01/27/23 - Cambridge Fire Fighters
There will be a Special Meeting prior to the February Meeting on Tuesday (2/7) at 6PM, regarding moving forward to 4th Step Grievances on Vacation & Injury Policies. The Union Meeting will begin at 7PM.
7th District Scholarships Available for 2023 01/25/23 - IAFF 7th District
The application period is open for the annual 7th District Benevolent Fund Scholarship program. It closes on March 8th to allow for reviewers to access each applicant. This year as in the past, 10 scholarships will be awarded. There will be one $1000 scholarship, two $750 scholarships and seven $500 scholarships.

Firefighting is an inherently dangerous calling and the greatest danger facing firefighters today is occupational cancer. Almost 75% of the firefighters whose names were added to the IAFF Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial last year died after battling cancer. Included in the 469 names added to the wall in 2022 was our late brother, Mike Paidar.

After a long pause due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, Saint Paul Firefighters IAFF Local 21 is pleased to bring back Wills for Heroes. There is an event scheduled for members of the Saint Paul Fire Department on Monday, February 06, 2023, at the SPFD Training Division (1683 Energy Park.)
There are appointments available for 5:00pm, 6:00pm, 7:00pm and 8:00pm.

It is with great sadness that the Uniformed Professional Fire Fighters Association of Connecticut learned of the tragic passing of Representative Quentin “Q” Williams early Thursday morning.
As many of us spoke with Representative Williams the previous evening at the inaugural ball, it is shocking and sorrowful to learn of his passing.

2023 Garner Scholarship Application 01/04/23 - IAFF Local 311
The Richard Garner Memorial Scholarship was created to honor the life of City of Madison Firefighter/Paramedic Richard Garner Jr. who died in the line of duty on April 1, 2018. Richard was not only a great Firefighter/Paramedic and a dear friend to many, but he was a constant fixture within the Madison community, helping and serving in any way he could. The scholarship was put in place to help those who are entering the Fire and EMS fields.

Cancer is the leading cause of line-of-duty deaths, with fire fighters in the United States and Canada developing job-related cancers at a rate higher than ever.
Almost 75% of the names added to the Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial wall in 2022 were members who died from occupational cancer.
Join the IAFF and the Firefighter Cancer Support Network (FCSN) in Extinguishing Cancer from the fire service.
Visit our Fire Fighter Cancer Awareness Month webpage, and follow along on social media (@iaffofficial) throughout January as we promote cancer awareness and prevention and share resources to support our brothers and sisters diagnosed with cancer.

The "BATTLE OF THE BRAVEST" has raised $63,988. for established, promising, world class cancer research.
2022 - C | Recruit Academy Graduation 12/20/22 - IAFF Local 21
A winter storm warning is in effect this Wednesday, December 21st through Friday, December 23rd and the public is being asked to limit travel to essential travel only. It is for this reason that Fire Administration has made the difficult decision to postpone the 2022-C Graduation Ceremony until next week.
Saint Paul Fire is working to reschedule this important ceremony.
