Kitchen Fire on Reichert Circle 05/20/18 - IAFF Local 1081
At 2:17pm on May 14th the Westport Fire Department was dispatched to a report of an appliance fire at a home on Reichert Circle. The Fire Department responded with 2 engines, 1 ladder truck, and the shift commander. The first arriving unit arrived and reported a smoke condition in the home due a fire in the kitchen.
Extrication on I-95 05/20/18 - IAFF Local 1081
On April 29th, The Westport Fire Department was dispatched to I 95 Southbound between exits 18 and 17 for a report of a motor vehicle accident. The initial dispatch was for Engine 5, Rescue 3 and the Shift Commander.
Engine 5 arrived and found two vehicles that were involved, both sustaining damage and that the driver of one of the vehicles was trapped in his car.

Brookline Firefighters Fight For Air Climb 05/14/18 - Brookline Fire Fighters
Members of Brookline Firefighters Local 950 participated in the American Lung Association 2018 Fight For Air Climb. Our firefighters came in 3rd place raising over $9300 for the Lung Association.

Lone Tree Plane Crash 05/12/18 - South Metro Firefighters IAFF LOCAL 2164
At 8:23 p.m. on Friday, May 11, 2018, Local 2164 members responded to a plane crash in Lone Tree near Ridgegate Parkway and Stepping Stone Circle. The first call came from the Centennial Airport Control Tower after they lost radar contact with the aircraft. The initial response was 12 units including specialized 4x4 airport rescue and firefighting trucks and medic units.

Parker Road and Lewiston MVA 05/11/18 - South Metro Firefighters IAFF LOCAL 2164
At 12:56 on Friday May 11th, Local 2164 members responded to a non-injury accident in the northbound lanes of Parker Road at Lewiston Way. A flatbed semi was hauling 2 - 10,000-pound concrete pipe sections when it came to a sudden stop at the intersection. One pipe rolled forward and struck the cab of the truck, rupturing a hydraulic fluid tank, which spilled liquid onto the road.

The Memorial Day Observance is on Saturday, 5/28, 0830 at Calvary Cemetery. All attendees are invited to breakfast afterwards at the Coffee Cup at Rice and Arlington. Old Sta 3 Restoration Update 05/09/18 - Newport News Firefighter's Association
First work day for Sta 3 restoration has been scheduled. Below is the information provided by Chief Ken Jones:
Monday: 21 May 10:00 hrs. Work on sanding and spackle the walls, cleaning the wall prior to painting and scrapping the paint off the bricks.
2018 7th District Scholarships Awarded 05/09/18 - IAFF 7th District
The annual 7th District Benevolent Fund Scholarships have been awarded. This year there wer 47 applicants that were all sensational in academics and writing skills. The winners of $750 scholarships are Kai Parkinson, son of Summer Parkinson of Local 2878 (Eastside FireFighters) and Reagan Wells, son of David Wells of Local 1828 (Snohomish 1 FF's).
